Freedom trails

Rossano and the Tenna valley

One of the main activities of the Monte San Martino Trust is to conduct walkers along routes taken by escaping PoWs, commemorating the bravery of the villagers who gave them shelter. Every year, usually in May, the Trust and the WW2 Escape Lines Memorial Society co-host a Freedom Trail based on Servigliano in Le Marche that includes three day-long walks and memorial services. On occasions, Trust supporters also follow a Trail in the Rossano Valley, where Major Gordon Lett led a brigade of partisans, which ends on the Ligurian coast.
