Annual luncheons

The Trust holds an annual luncheon, which since 2022 has taken place at the RAF Club in Piccadilly, London. Usually held in November, the luncheon is the main occasion for supporters to meet and celebrate the trust’s mission, which is to commemorate the courage and hospitality of the Italian country people (contadini) who fed and sheltered escaping prisoners of war. Many of those attending are descendants of some of those escapers. The chair of the Trust updates supporters about the Trust’s activities over the previous 12 months and introduces a guest speaker. Guests of honour include the Italian ambassador or a representative from the embassy. Books and publications are put on sale.
